The first thing I want to talk about is the new Google Authority. While it’s not a new thing per say, it is very important. The Google Authority is a site that is defined as having a significant number of natural back links, an increase in the total number of daily searches, and a high quality linkback “authority” from other high PR sites, over a long period of time. This might seem a bit confusing but if you break it down, it’s quite simple.

The break down is this, get your dating site listed on as many other dating related sites as possible without spamming. Those are called back links. Keep your dating site content fresh as well as adding new profiles, blogs, articles on a frequent basis. Also, remember when adding your dating site to other dating related sites like dating directories, be sure to only do it with a higher PageRank than yours. If you don’t know your dating site PageRank, then download the Google toolbar.

Most are now adding a “nofollow” tag to the links so that searchbots and spiders can’t follow the link to your dating site. This will kill Pagerank. You might want to check them out and do a view source on their page and see if you see the “nofollow” right before your link. If so, then you have placed a link on a site that will serve you no purpose whatsoever. Now, i’m sure you want to blame someone for this so you can blame Google. It was pretty much their idea.

So, what can you do to promote your new dating software site? Well, there is still lots to do. Most dating directories don’t do a “nofollow” but you do want to make sure before you do a link exchange. Still continue to keep your site content fresh and inviting and that will keep your dating members coming back. Keep your content real and energetic. That will also keep them coming back. They are great for social software so keep that in mind. With that said, do add a blog site that promotes your new dating site. For example, if you have domain.com setup as your dating site, then setup domainblogs.com as your blog site. You can download free blog software at WordPress.org and start blogging about your dating site. You can add articles about your dating site and promote it with a link to it. You can also link to profiles from your blog site. This will help you generate more traffic to your dating software site. Another good thing to do is link exchanges. Only exchange links with relevant dating sites and dating directories. If you are a Russian dating site, then exchange links with Russian dating directories and Russian dating sites. This will help build your inbound relevant links which in turn give you good ranking on Google and Live.com.

Don’t keyword stuff. That means don’t add your main keyword all over your site. Just add it into a few places. If you are using the blog site, use your main keyword about 4 times in a 4 paragraph blog. So, use it like you would be writing an article and not stuffing the keyword.

Stay away from Link Farms. Don’t pay to do link exchanges. Google knows who these link farms are and will penalize you for doing it.

Keep your dating software content fresh and changing. Google and other search engines love to come back to sites that have fresh content. So, make changes often and you will see results.
